Sharon L. Nelson (nee Donnelly), 82, of Olmsted Falls, peacefully passed away on February 4, 2019, at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake with her family by her side.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late William J. and Lottie M. (nee Apsey) Donnelly. Sharon was the beloved wife of Hugh J. Nelson Jr., who predeceased her in 1977; loving mother of David (Cheryl) Nelson, Diane (Robert) Delaney, John Nelson and Brian (Kim) Nelson; cherished grandmother of Lauren (Michael) Bloch, Christopher Carlisle, Nicole Carlisle, Amanda (Jose Pedroza) Carlisle, Angela Smith, Brian (Kristine) Holmes, Nicholas Nelson, Wesley (Hannah) Nelson and Cody Nelson and treasured great-grandmother of Ava and Porter Nelson, Taitum Smith, Jaxson Pacileo, and Emily and Gaven Holmes; dear sister of Barbara (Jim) Roule; adored aunt of Laura (Michael) Callesen, Alan Davis and Gregg (Andreita) Arsenault.
Sharon was raised in Lakewood, Ohio, where she met and married Hugh Nelson. They eventually settled in Bay Village, Ohio, where they raised their family. In the mid-70s, Sharon took a position at Bonne Bell, where she worked until her retirement. Sharon loved golf, bowling, movies and family holidays, but most of all she loved her family and friends, who were blessed with her gentle and kindhearted nature.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 12PM-2PM at the Sunset Chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where memorial services will commence following the visitation at 2PM. Committal services will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
